Feng Shui dates back to 6,000-4.000 B.C. At that time, the interest in the Feng Shui began as part of the Chinese studies on burial sites, the places where their ancestors would be laid down to rest, as they believed that the places of burial would affect the future of the entire dynasty. Later, the Feng Shui became related to the growing interest in the places or houses of the living.
During the Pharonic stage in 2,500 B.C, the tombs or the pyramids were also built according to the principles of the Feng Shui. At that time, the Pharonics depended on precise and accurate calculations to build the three pyramids we know today. The building was determined by the sites and certain geo-biological lines.
The science Feng Shui was known in China, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and India which accredited the principles of the science, with some variations with regard to some of its basic principles.
The science was revived by the United States when it decided to conduct research on the most successful economic locations. It was found out that Hong Kong, the very tiny island in terms of its area, and which has been leased to the UK for 99 consecutive years, was built by its original inhabitants (the Chinese) on the principles of the Feng Shui. Among the proofs attesting to that is the noticeable success of the banks operating there such as the HSBC. In the sixties, the United States made use specialized masters and translators on the subject, thus, commencing the dissemination of the science academically. Books on the subject began to be available in the markets in the seventies. Pronunciation; Feng Su or Fung Shwaiy, according to the pronunciation in the different areas of China (far north or south).
Meaning: the literal translation of the word Feng Shui, under the Chinese language is wind and water, which represent all that human beings need to survive. Water is the basic element of life, where in the case of humans, plants or animals. In the Holy Koran, God notes that water is the source of life. Water is seen also as the logical cause of the agglomeration taking place on the banks of rivers and oceans in the different world continents.

Feng Shui has become a principal science in the developed countries with its books gaining wide-world respect. Consultants, architecture students and architects have benefited from the Feng Shui. It has provided them with geometrical information to decide on the buildings' shape and their use, whether for commercial or recreational purposes and to decide on the buildings' directions and vents. The Feng Shui includes building principles on entrances, directions, usage, inhabitants and site.
The entrance of a building is important, including the threshold. This is reflected in the habits and traditions, as people tend to say the name of God as they cross the threshold, to bless their steps.
One of my Feng Shui masters, a Chinese architect who has offices in Amsterdam and New York wrote a book entitled (Feng Shui revealed), in which he spoke of some of his engineering works where he applied the principles of the Feng Shui.
Hence, the Feng Shui is a science and secrets.
True, the secrets of this science have been rediscovered. An old tale tells the story of an empire where one of the workers at the emperor's court was able to steal some of the secrets of the Feng Shui science. Then, he applied them on two small villages, which began to flourish afterwards. When the emperor heard about this, he began writing books about the science, including false information, to protect his secrets and to maintain his authority.
Up to date, some of the books which included false information on the Feng Shui are still being traded, and are still widely spread in the market.
